Navigating Weather Challenges for Your Waterfront Barn Wedding
With record rainfall this summer in Delaware, the families hosting their once-in-a-lifetime celebrations at Thousand Acre Farms have been frequently asking about our facility’s “Plan B” options for rain, storms, or extreme heat. At our Middletown, DE wedding venue, we have many ways to plan for contingencies caused by inclement weather. Here’s how to navigate weather challenges for your waterfront barn wedding at Thousand Acre Farms.
Indoor Facilities at Thousand Acre Farm
In the case of poor weather, the team at Thousand Acre Farm can move your ceremony to the main dining floor in front of our romantic fireplace, a beautiful backdrop in view of all of your guests. Plus, photographers can get a vantage point from the balcony for indoor ceremonies.
There are also multiple indoor spaces for your guests to still have an incredible experience, and enjoy the waterfront view, if rain or heat put a damper on outdoor activities. Our spacious patio is covered, and can host your cocktail hour as well as be a place for guests to relax after dinner. Peruse our photo gallery to see photos of our indoor spaces.
Renting a tent is also an option for shade or rain protection for an outside ceremony or cocktail hour. Thousand Acre Farm has approved vendors offering tents and other supplies.
